Services · The Payne Standard

A restoration is never just a repair.

We restore the integrity of the whole car — not simply the parts that can be seen. Each commission begins with a full understanding of its history, intention, and the road ahead.

“Every component has a reason to be here. Our work is to honor it.”

Restoration Services

Every facet of the restoration.

Our capabilities cover all facets of the restoration process.

01

Full Restoration

Down-to-the frame: each and every part will be removed and renewed using factory-correct processes.

02

Restomod & Upgrades

We support a fleet of rally vehicles and travel with owners to ensure a care-free experience. Many of these vehicles receive modern upgrades while maintaining an all-original look.

03

Coachwork & Paint

In most instances, we remove all coatings from the bodywork and then work to align and remove imperfections. Once done, we use period-correct, high-quality automotive paints to bring a vehicle back to its original luster.

04

Engine & Drivetrain

We maintain an in-house team that is dedicated to engine performance. With the ability to machine and fabricate with extreme precision, motors are blueprinted to meet or exceed specifications set at the factory.

05

Trim & Interior

Our team utilizes advanced processes to bring worn interiors back to life. Plastics, wood elements and metals are all subject to renewal during our restoration process. We are partnered with skilled upholsterers who ensure exact material and pattern matching, fit and finish.

06

Servicing & Care

In addition to restoration work, we provide services for ongoing maintenance and storage. Upon request, we can accompany your vehicle to rally events to ensure peak performance. We also offer in-person assessments of vehicles that have been managed by other shops.

Resto-Mods

Period looks. Modern nerve.

Some cars should stay exactly as they left the factory. Others are meant to be driven — hard, and often. A resto-mod keeps the lines, the badge, and the character you love, then updates what you can’t see: fuel injection, disc brakes, a modern gearbox, air conditioning, and cooling and suspension that suit real roads.

A sixty-year-old car that starts on the first turn of the key and holds its own in traffic. Done right, it looks born in its era and drives like this one — built to your intent, from a subtle upgrade to a ground-up modern driver.

Curation

Stewardship, not just ownership.

Our work doesn’t end when a car leaves the shop. We help owners and families think past the next show season — how a car is documented, maintained, and one day passed on. Honest records over quick cosmetics. Correct preservation over shortcuts. Guidance on what to acquire and what to let go.

We restore cars to preserve them: for the next owner, the next driver, and the next generation.

What We Do

Dedicated to the Craft of Classic Car Restoration

the trade.

The specialist processes shops and collectors send us — available on their own, no restoration required.

01

Vapor Blasting

A refined finish for every component.

Vapor (wet) blasting renews aluminum, cast, and steel to a smooth, even finish — engine cases, cylinder heads, carburetors, brake and suspension parts, and more. Available on its own to shops and individuals.

02

Laser Cleaning

Clean power, precisely applied.

Non-abrasive laser cleaning lifts rust, paint, oil, and residue from delicate metal surfaces with exceptional control and no harsh chemicals.

03

Engine Machining

Blueprinted and balanced.

Boring, honing, decking, line boring, and balancing on precision equipment — the machine work most shops send out, done in-house.

04

Fabrication & CNC

Made, not sourced.

Metal shaping, welding, and CNC-machined parts made to spec when the original simply can’t be bought.

05

3D Scanning & Printing

Scan it, model it, make it.

3D laser scanning with FDM and SLA printing to reverse-engineer and recreate parts that no longer exist.

Vapor Blasting · A Standalone Service

Vapor blasting & laser cleaning, on their own.

You don’t need a full restoration to use our finishing shop. Send us parts for vapor blasting or laser cleaning on their own — aluminum, cast, and alloy brought back to a clean, even, factory-fresh finish, or paint, rust, and oxidation lifted from delicate pieces without harming the metal around them.

We serve engine builders, machine and restoration shops, motorcycle and marine specialists, and collectors across Rockwall and the Dallas–Fort Worth area. Ship parts in or drop them off, with trade pricing for shops.
